Kenya, a master tutor, graduated from Ramapo College of NJ with a BA in Communications and received her teaching certificate K-5 from Montclair State University. She has her TOSD endorsement and her masters in SPED. She has been an educator since 2011 where she has worked with preschool age to 5th grade students. Kenya is currently a 3rd grade teacher in Newark, New Jersey where she works with a diverse group of students. This includes their learning abilities, learning styles, as well as their background. When it comes to working with young scholars, Kenya implements best practices when in the classroom and while tutoring. She identifies the learning style and needs of a student so that she can differentiate instruction for each student. Kenya also uses reader’s and writers workshops, guided reading, number talk and interactive materials (just to name a few) to engage her students in learning. As an educator, Kenya strives to be the best for her students and bring out the best in them!

Each tutor undergoes an extensive internal screening process including a thorough background check, demo lesson and content knowledge quizzes.
