Tutor Bio

Elyse, a master tutor, is highly experienced with a Bachelor's Degree in History and another in Psychology from Rutger University, and then earned her Master’s degree in Social Studies Education, K-12 the following year. She was also inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. As a Social Studies teacher for over 17 years, she has taught ninth through twelfth grades in American history, World History, and Psychology. This year, she will be teaching AP Psychology as well. Elyse’s areas of expertise include executive function planning and organization, analytic reading and writing, and comprehension of content in the social sciences. In addition to her experience with high school students, she has also supported students in elementary and middle school with solidifying basic skills and organizational techniques. Furthermore, she is a Level One Google Certified Educator, and is trained as a Youth Mental Health and First Aid responder. Outside of school, Elyse enjoys walking her dog (Acorn), exercising and yoga, and spending time with her husband and son!

Each tutor undergoes an extensive internal screening process including a thorough background check, demo lesson and content knowledge quizzes.
